Final touches

Durga Puja starts this week, and the preparation for the mega-celebration is on the full swing. Protima (idol) has come to almost all the big-budget pandals even though the pandals are not fully ready yet.

I had the occasion of visiting a couple of renowned pujas today while on work. And here are the snaps I took of 2 of them – Jodhpur Park and Singhi Park.

The Jodhpur Park pandal – rather a gorgeous, ancient home – has its main door firmly shut (see the image below). This is what will apparently be, while visitors enter and exit through side entrances on either side.

The Singhi Park pandal as usual sits at the tri-junction on Dover Lane, and vehicles are still moving through it. The inside of this puja pandal is always intricately designed, while the upper part on the outside (3 sides) is made to resemble a famous monument each year.

As can be seen both the pandals are seeing last minute touch-ups, and workmen are busy attending to finer details.
